Counseling & Wellness

The Counseling & Wellness Department at Burroughs is a multi-faceted program staffed by the department director/counselor, one other counselor, a health educator and a liaison to the Parents Council's Family Network. The counselors work with all members of the Burroughs community to support the well-being and growth of our students. Helping students sustain healthy relationships within the community is an important part of our mission, along with encouraging our students to make healthy personal choices. At the core, this is a collaborative effort, involving parents, faculty/coaches and the administration.

Two full-time counselors follow the students throughout their time at Burroughs. Their work is complemented by a health educator. Services include oversight of the health curriculum; screening for learning difficulties and emotional concerns; personal counseling following any type of loss, crisis or difficulty; counseling for a wide variety of adjustment concerns; and parent support services. The department also supports Family Network programming.
