Using the JBS Parents App

We encourage you to download and familiarize yourself with the JBS Parents App. Additionally, parents/guardians can access their child's health records via the Magnus Health app (details below).

JBS Parents App

The JBS Parents App is a great hub for information about your child’s class, upcoming events, the latest happenings around campus, and much more. Via the app, you can also access our faculty/staff and parent directories (available only to current parents/guardians and current faculty/staff members).

Getting Started

Using your mobile device, download the app from the App Store (for iPhones and iPads) or Google Play Store (for Androids).

The app will ask two questions once you launch the app for the first time.

Allow "JBS Parents" to use your location? You can decide if you want the app to have your location.
"JBS Parents" would like to send you notifications. Choose whether you'd like to receive push notifications. This setting can be changed later by going to your device settings, finding the app, and enabling/disabling the notification option.

After the app launches, click on the three stacked lines (≡) in the lower left-hand corner to access the sidebar menu. Click Login. From there, enter your first name, last name, and email address (the original email address that you used when applying to Burroughs). It's best to use the name and email address that Burroughs already has on file for you. Then click Request Verification Code. A six-digit verification code will be sent via email; enter the code in the app and click Login.

Once you are logged in, click on the first tile: Update My Info. You'll see the information that is already in your record. Feel free to make any updates or changes. Once completed, click Submit at the bottom of the form.

Using the App

Explore the app's features by clicking on individual tiles.

To view any notifications, click on the bell icon on the bottom bar of the app.

If you want to log out of the app, return to the sidebar menu and click Logout. If you logout, you will not be able to access the Parent Directory and other functionality.

You are able to add individual events to your calendar via the Calendar Tile. First, make sure the app has permission to access your calendar (go here to view settings). Then, click on the calendar icon to add it to your calendar. Click here for a short how-to clip.

Troubleshooting

To log in, use the email address that you used when applying to Burroughs.
Make sure you are using the correct name (Kate vs. Katherine) and correct email address when logging in.
Can't find the six-digit code? Check your spam before requesting a new code. If you request a code too many times in a row, you will be locked out for 24 hours before you can log in.
