Family Network

The Family Network Book Club provides informal discussions led by parents, teachers and staff on a variety of books, including works of literature. If you’d like to participate, please purchase the book and join us at an upcoming meeting! Additionally, the Family Network also offers a collection of books, tapes, and videos on a wide range of parenting topics - they are available in the Family Network section of the school library.

Conversations that Count address issues of family and community concern relating to our children's social lives, and seeks the perspectives of both parents and students with regard to issues of substance use and abuse. This program takes place in both 7th and 8th grade. 

For Health Days in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, parent volunteers work with the Counseling & Wellness Department to provide snacks and greet presenters.

This Parents Association initiative pairs families new to JBS with current families to ease the transition to a new school, welcome them to our community, and address questions about how things work at JBS. Please reach out here if you are interested in being a community-builder! 

What to Expect Programs (fall) are organized for each grade and feature grade-level principals and counselors, who discuss what you can expect from students in the current year. The speakers address aspects of academics, development and wellness to help parents feel prepared for the year ahead.   

Parenting Together Programs (spring) are organized for each grade level and feature guest speakers and/or JBS counselors, who discuss age-appropriate topics and give parents an opportunity to listen, learn, and connect with each other.
