Grandparents Committee 2024-2025
Established in 2011, the goal of the Grandparents Committee is to find meaningful ways for grandparents to become involved in the life of the school and get to know one another.
There are events specifically for grandparents throughout the year that we hope grandparents will attend, in addition to musical & theatrical performances, athletic events, special speakers, and school events.

Join grandparents in the JBS quadrangle for coffee and light treats, learn about opportunities to get involved and meet new fellow grandparents! Park in the upper Price Road lot. E-invitations will be sent out via e-mail, or you can RSVP to Amy Dunaway at adunaway@jburroughs.org
7 & 8 Grandparents Morning
November 26, 8:00 am
Grandparents of 7th and 8th grade students are invited to come to school to meet Andy Abbott, head of school, for a continental breakfast and to visit two classes with grandchild. Invitations to mail in September! Grandparents of students in 9th through 12th grade can volunteer that morning.
Faculty Speaker just for Grandparents

Hear from a Burroughs teacher about an aspect of the school. Past speakers include Donya Allison (Fine Arts, Director of Galleries, Curator of the Fine Arts Collection), Jennifer Jones (Chair of the Counseling & Wellness Department, Counselor, Liaison for the Family Network), Matt Tomlinson (Educational Technology Specialist, Computer Science Teacher) and the College Counseling Department.
9 - 12 grades Grandparents Morning

Grandparents of 9th - 12th grade students are invited to come to school to have breakfast with their grandchild(ren), enjoy a short program together and attend a class. Invitations to mail in September! Grandparents of students in 7th through 8th grade can volunteer that morning.
