Grandparents Committee

Established in 2011, the goal of the Grandparents Committee is to find meaningful ways for grandparents to become involved in the life of the school and get to know one another.

There are events specifically for grandparents throughout the year that we hope grandparents will attend, in addition to musical & theatrical performances, athletic events, special speakers, and school events.

Calling local grandparents to help with Potpourri!Potpourri week is often called The Happiest Week of the Year! It is a school-wide garage sale where you can find everything from gently used clothing to a barely used kitchen appliance! The week leading up to the sale consists of bake sales, snow cones, raffles, and more. Parents are asking grandparents if they can fill a shift or bake a treat for the bake sale during the week of April 15. Contact Sally Greenwood (JBS Grandparent Volunteer Coordinator) at sallyg35@gmail.com with any questions!

Grandparent Speaker: Donya Allison

In early February, grandparents heard from Donya Allison (Fine Arts, Director of Galleries, Curator of the Fine Arts Collection), who spoke about the various opportunities for students to study art at Burroughs. She also discussed the school's Permanent Collection, followed by a brief tour to explore art currently on display across campus.
