Winter Sports Awards 2023–2024

Winter Sports Awards 2023–2024

During assembly on Friday, April 19, athletic director Peter Tasker and varsity coaches congratulated 24 student-athletes and two coaches who have been honored by the local press and various league organizations for their performance during the winter sports season. Mr. Tasker also acknowledged the 12-season athletes in this year's senior class — those student-athletes who have competed on a Burroughs team every season throughout their four years of high school.

It was the final athletic awards assembly for Mr. Tasker, who will leave his role as athletic director at the end of this school year.

"One of the things that has gotten me out of bed in the morning these last 14 years is the belief that if we could create a culture in Bomber Athletics that drew on some of our most noble attributes of putting team over self, of committing to process over outcome, of focusing on the intrinsic goals of mastery, of improvement, of commitment, of hard work, of exploring the limits of our capabilities, then we would put ourselves in a position of maximum growth as human beings, best preparing ourselves for the path that awaits us," he said.
