Grade-Level Programming

Grade-Level Programming

On Tuesday, February 27, students participated in programming that was carefully developed for each grade level. These experiences were designed to help students develop a broader sense of themselves, their classmates, and their community.

  • Seventh graders met with representatives from the ALS Association St. Louis Regional Chapter for a presentation and interactive learning stations.
  • Eighth graders engaged in a design-thinking competition with projects focused on issues of poverty and food insecurity. This tied into their work with LifeWiseSTL during the community engagement week last October.
  • Ninth graders learned about sustainability and native environments from representatives from the Missouri Botanical Garden.
  • Tenth graders heard from JBS alumni working in several different fields as part of a career day co-organized by the College Counseling and Alumni offices.
  • Eleventh graders hosted more than 80 Special School District (SSD) athletes for Burroughs' first-ever Special Olympics Basketball tournament.
  • Twelfth graders met off campus with their May Project sponsors.
