Wake Up to Politics with Gabe Fleisher '20

Gabe Fleisher ’20 returned to Burroughs on September 5 and 6 as part of the JBS Community & Equity Partnership’s ongoing Civil Discourse Series. Gabe, founder and editor-in-chief of the popular daily newsletter Wake Up to Politics, spoke in assembly about some of his most memorable experiences as a young political journalist and how he balanced the work during high school and college. In a separate event for the broader JBS community, Gabe spoke about "The Power of Information" and the crucial role of media in shaping public perception and the challenges of polarization in politics.

About the Civil Discourse Series
Recognizing the urgent need for civil conversations to guide us away from toxic polarization and thus provide opportunities to address the significant political and social issues our world faces today, the JBS Community and Equity Partnership is hosting an ongoing Civil Discourse Event Series. Previous events have included two film screenings (Undivide Us and Leap of Faith) and a conversation with current JBS parent John Inazu, PhD, about his newest book, Learning to Disagree.
