It supports practical arts like woodworking and photography, music ensembles that fill Haertter Hall with sound, and speech and theatre productions that build confidence and community. At Burroughs, athletics are about more than competition.

Athletics at Burroughs signifies teamwork, resilience, and physical & mental well-being. From the first practice to the final game, students develop lifelong skills as they learn to lead, to support one another, and to be role models for our community on and off the field.

Your support helps sustain a wide range of opportunities, from varsity teams that compete at the highest levels to intramural and developmental programs that welcome every student. It provides resources for our coaches, equipment, facilities, and the experiences that unite our community — Friday night lights, Blue & Gold Weekend traditions, and the friendships forged through sport.

At Burroughs, a reverence for nature was woven into the very fabric of the school. 

For more than 50 years, Drey Land has been a defining part of the Burroughs experience. Seventh graders begin their journey there, learning teamwork in the wilderness; 9th graders return for immersive biology and ecology research; and countless students discover confidence, community, and a deep respect for the natural world. Beyond Drey Land, environmental education is woven into daily life at Burroughs — from gardening and sustainability classes on the campus arboretum to LEED-certified buildings, solar energy, composting, and a curriculum that prepares students to be thoughtful stewards of our planet.

Your gift to Drey Land and environmental education ensures that these transformative experiences remain at the heart of a Burroughs education. Need-based tuition aid at Burroughs ensures that every qualified student has the opportunity to thrive at Burroughs—regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. This school year, one in four Burroughs students is receiving tuition aid, totaling more than $4.5 million.

Your gift to tuition aid has a direct and lasting impact. It opens doors for bright, motivated students, enriches our classrooms with diverse and unique perspectives, and strengthens the fabric of the Burroughs community. By giving, you help ensure that no student hesitates to apply because of cost—and that every student has the chance to learn, grow, and contribute their unique voice to Burroughs and beyond.
