On Friday, October 15, two faculty members and 26 students from multiple grades participated in the annual Chouteau Island Clean Up on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River (just south of the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge). Notable items removed from the riverbank and adjacent woods included a full-size rolling trash cart and a channel marker buoy! 

The day capped off a busy service week at Burroughs—8th graders had already engaged in four days of volunteer work in partnership with local nonprofits.
