98th Opening Day

On Thursday, August 27, Burroughs began a careful return to campus for its 98th opening day. Teachers and staff (all masked and socially distant) were present, and students began the school year over Zoom. The day began, as always, with morning assembly (livestreamed from Haertter Hall). Daniel Martin '21 performed an instrumental rendition of the National Anthem on violin, Head of School Andy Abbott gave remarks, and student body president Eleanor Hohenberg '21 announced that 2020-2021 is officially "The Year of the Present." Eleanor and Katie Xu '21 will address the student body next Wednesday, September 2 during Senior Assembly.

Here are photos capturing assembly being livestreamed and Zoom classes.
