Academic Support Faculty

Lexi joined the Burroughs faculty in 2024 at the Director of Academic Support. Lexi received her BA from Randolph-Macon College with an English major and Communication Studies Minor and then earned a Masters of Public Administration from Virginia Tech. Prior to Burroughs, Lexi worked at the Jemicy School, one of the country's oldest day schools for students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences and has spent the past nine years in the upper school admission office, during which time, she earned a Masters of Clinical Psychology. Lexi's passion is to help students who learn differently see their areas of concern as an opportunity for growth, to encourage creative thinking, and to empower students to capitalize on their strengths.

Jackie works closely with students to help them understand concepts and methods, as well as to instill problem-solving and study skills necessary for mastery of a subject. A teacher and tutor with 30 years of experience working with students on language, math and science, Jackie holds a bachelor's degree in English from Brandeis University, a master's in teaching from Washington University and an MFA (writing) from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Jackie has been at Burroughs since 2003.

In addition to working with students in Academic Support, Alex is a member of the school's counseling team and works with students in grades 7 and 9. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Purdue University and a master's degree in social work from UMSL. She joined the Burroughs faculty in 2022.

Mylin helps students with organization, study skills, and math and science. He also coaches boys varsity football and basketball. Mylin holds a bachelor's degree in English from Kenyon College and a master's in social work from Washington University. A member of the JBS class of 1992, Mylin joined the faculty in 2000.

Greg Manning joins the Burroughs faculty as a member of the Academic Support Department, and will also help coach the ice hockey team. Mr. Manning moved to St. Louis from Washington, D.C., where he served as the middle school learning specialist at Georgetown Day School for six years. He also worked as a special education co-teacher at Caesar Chavez Public Charter School. Mr. Manning earned a bachelor's degree in history from The Catholic University of America, where he also played ice hockey, and completed a master's degree in special education at The George Washington University. He also coached ice hockey at Catholic University for nine seasons.

Kevin McKone teaches Introduction to Algebra, Algebra I and Algebra II, and tutors in Academic Support. He has a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a master's in educational administration from St. Louis University. Kevin joined the Burroughs faculty in 1988.
