Burroughs Teaching Fellows
The Teaching Fellows Program is a full-time, one-to-two-year program designed for recent college graduates or individuals completing an advanced degree who are interested in beginning careers in independent school education. Teaching fellows are paired with a mentor teacher in their subject area who guides, advises and supports them. Generally, fellows teach two sections, allowing ample time to collaborate with their mentor, observe classes, shadow students and take part of all aspects of school life.
Fellows participate in a professional development program led by the Assistant Head of School for Academics along with other administrators and educators. During the second year of the program, fellows are assisted in their search for a full-time teaching position. Special consideration is given to applicants who have participated in campus affinity or resource groups and/or have been actively involved in school DEI initiatives.
Fellows receive a $25,000 salary, on-campus housing, and a complete benefits package.
