2021-22 International Students

Meet this year's international students, Nataly Bakri and Blessing Kihika, who will be joining the junior class. Both students are recipients of the Kennedy-Lugar YES scholarship from the US State Department's Education and Cultural Affairs Bureau.

Nataly Bakri

Nataly is one of our AFS students. She comes from Amman, Jordan, where she lives with her parents and two sisters. She enjoys cooking and baking--her family celebrates her homemade pastas and brownies. She's also an avid lover of music and documentaries. She's been active as a member of her school's student council. During her time in the US, she's excited to design her own Halloween costume and to try ice skating.  She'll be hosted by the Kuhlman family.

Blessing Kihika

Blessing is another AFS student.  She comes from southern Kenya, where she lives in Voi, a town of some 45,000, with her parents and two siblings.  In her free time, she enjoys swimming and visiting game parks with her family.  She also enjoys modeling and drawing.  During her time in the US, she's especially looking forward to learning how to play volleyball and basketball.  She'll be hosted by the Ratliff family.
