The JBS Community & Equity Partnership (C&EP) is dedicated to fostering a thriving and inclusive school community. Through meaningful collaboration with parents, caregivers, alumni, faculty, and staff, we design and implement a wide-range of programs and activities—including workshops, cultural events, and discussion forums—that honor and advance diversity, equity, inclusivity, and engagement. C&EP supports the Community & Equity Leadership Center at John Burroughs School to ensure a strong and vibrant community for all.

We are excited to invite all Burroughs Community Members to participate in International Week, with this year's theme as The World Within, which will take place from March 3rd to March 7th. This program is designed to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures in our community and deepen our collective understanding of global interconnectedness.
We will host several events throughout the week to highlight and honor cultural diversity. These include showcases featuring the Cultural Exchange, performances, and interactive activities that will immerse participants in our community members' unique traditions and stories. Additionally, our assembly will serve as a centerpiece of the week, providing an opportunity for us to come together and reflect on what it means to be globally competent in today’s world.
Global competency—the ability to communicate, collaborate, and engage effectively across cultural differences—has never been more essential. In an interconnected world, equipping students with these skills is critical to their success, as it fosters empathy, adaptability, and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives. These competencies not only prepare them for future careers but also empower them to be thoughtful, inclusive members of our global community.
