The 2008 girls spring sports season is now entering the middle of the season. It has been an interesting season so far for the girls. Due to the crazy weather, all three teams have dealt with games being postponed and cancelled. They have also had to deal with either practicing in the confined space of the gym or braving the ugly weather. The strains of these conditions have produced mixed results in the success of the teams.

The lacrosse team, captained by seniors Nicole Salaber and Rachel Maddox, has had an amazing season. So far, the team is 8-2, having lost only to St. Joe and Ursuline. The Ursuline game was incredibly close, finishing with a 1 point difference at 8-9. Junior Erica Barnell said "the team has really clicked this year! Everything has been going really well. We hope to keep it up through the rest of the season."

Soccer has had a much more difficult start to the season. The team, filled with members recovering from injuries, has been improving steadily throughout the season, and hopes to finish strong. Offensive players Maggie Kistner, Ally Asaro, Elena Crosley, and Mackenzie Grady have stood out in the season so far, especially in the Lutheran North game, and the Ursuline tournament. According to a player, "the team is viewing these games as a chance to perfect their play for district finals."

The track team has been practicing hard. With meets almost every weekend, the team works to prove themselves. The MWAA Meet was an impressive meet for the bombers, with Alyssa Mizell taking 1st place in the pole vault, Jane Plegge receiving 3rd in the 300 Hurdles, and Armani Tatum finishing 2nd in both the 100 Meter Dash and the 300 Hurdles. So far, Alyssa has already broken an impressive 10 ft on the pole vault. The team looks forward to the rest of the season.

Overall, the girls are off to a good start.
