Lacrosse Championship
On Wednesday, May 20th, the Bomber varsity lacrosse team won the Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Championship, the equivalent of state in lacrosse. The team's 6-4 victory over Nerinx secured the first lacrosse title for Burroughs. Over the course of the season, the team had a record of 20 - 1. The next morning, during assembly, the championship plaque was presented to the school by team captains Erica Barnell, Christie O'Hara and Sarah Townsley.
A moment of silence was observed at the beginning of the contest in remembrance of Air Force First Lieutenant Roz Schulte '02 who died this week in Afghanistan. Also mentioned were the contributions which Roz and her father, Bob, have made to the sport of lacrosse in St. Louis. At Burroughs, Roz was All League and All American, and she was captain of the Air Force Academy's women's lacrosse team her senior year.
