Laura Bierut and Elzbieta Sklodowska, parents, were two of four faculty members honored as part of Washington University's 2009 Founders Day. Laura is a professor of psychiatry at the Washington University School of Medicine, and Elzbieta is professor of Spanish and chair of the the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures in Arts & Sciences.
