Today we honor those individuals who stood out on their respective teams this past fall. I thought this year I would let the voices of the players and coaches be heard from what has become ritual in many of our sports and fondly referred to as “pump-up” notes.

I know that we are going to kick butt because we have worked so hard all season and we are READY for this meet. Just remember: we love hills; they make us stronger. But actually, we have done so many dog hills that nothing on that Prin course will surprise us at all.

But what I will remember most about Wednesday is the community that was demonstrated within our program. The outpouring of concern and support for one of our fallen teammates speaks volumes to the character and closeness on this team amongst the players and their parents. The scene at the hospital not only helped alleviate my anxiety for the health and welfare of our player, but filled me with a great sense of pride to be part of such a special group of people. The hospital staff even commented on never seeing this much support for an injured player.
Coach
On a day we honored a Burroughs great who left his mark on this school and our program, we also realized our own collective greatness on and off the field. Let this greatness shine so that it would be evident to all who come and see BOMBERS SOCCER!
Athlete
Play for yourself, play for each other and play for all Bombers. Do this, and I can promise you, it will be a great day to be a Bomber!
Athlete
Fight for brothers, fight for yourselves, and fight for the right to play side by side another week!!
Coach
Remember, golf is a journey much like life,
Full of joys and full of strife.
Stop to smell the roses and make new friends.
Cut yourself some slack – work hard on what you lack-
Never give up & always come back!
Mark Twain had it wrong- golf isn’t a “good walk spoiled,”
It’s a walk well worth taking amidst the frustrations and toils!
...It has been an honor to walk along side of you this season
Athlete
How bad do you want it? How bad do you want to work that field today with your head held high knowing that you have given everything in your control to help our team get the W. Know your assignments and finish every play. Don’t think about making excuses. Pick your teammates up. Remember every rep you took this summer, training for this game. For this play. For this moment. Seize the moment and don’t look back.
Athlete
At the beginning of the year the seniors decided on the slogan “What does it take?” Have you ever really thought about that? What does it take?...To do what though?? To win a game?? To make it to the playoffs?? To win a championship?? For me it comes down to one thing. It takes a team, a family, willing to sacrifice everything for each other.
The words of players and coaches give a glimpse of the power of the journey. These experiences leave indelible marks on our souls and offer memories for a lifetime. And for my colleagues and me, it is such a privilege to watch it all unfold.
