Spring Break Launch

Spring break began after school today (March 11), but a guest to campus might have thought it started with the first bell at 8:15. Students had declared the day, Chill Day, and the weather cooperated. Despite end-of-term tests, the day had the air of sheer fun, from assembly being run by our student body president and upper classmen ( who presented a PowerPoint guide to chilling) to senior lounge furniture and hammocks being set up in the Quad.

At the end of assembly, school administrators made good on a deal they had made with organizers of last month's Dance Marathon:  If students raised more than $6000, the administrators would do some "jerking" (an LA dance phenomenon) before the entire school. Students, led by their president, John Stillman, raised more than $16,000 (most of which has been donated to Aim High St. Louis), and our administrators' performance raised the bar on "Chill Day!"
