Alumni Weekend

St. Louis area alums joined members of re-uning classes (’46, ’51, ’56, ’66, ’76, ’81, ’86 and ’91) for a weekend of activities hosted by the Abbotts on campus.

On Friday evening, a closing reception for artist Robin Winfield '74 and cocktail party were held in the Kuehner Gallery and dining room. A high point for many was re-connecting with faculty legends (Alice Snodgrass, Tom "Tex" Yager, Bob Henningsen, Jim Lowe, Peggy Fiala and Keith Shahan).

On Saturday afternoon, the party started all over again with a picnic lunch; music courtesy of Tom '01 and Rick '03 Pernikoff; conversation with co-authors Jim Lemen and Jud Calkins '59 of the soon-to-be-released Teammates for Life, A History of Burroughs Athletics (1923 - 2010); GoodEye PhotoShare; face painting; balloon sculpture and a Mr. Frosty Treats truck — complemented by beautiful weather and a winning football game.

On Sunday, athletic stalwarts brought their best games to basketball, field hockey and soccer matches.

And, of course, throughout the weekend there were individual get-togethers off campus for re-uning classes.

Here are pictures, courtesy of Andrew Newman (fine arts, school photographer), highlighting the on-campus action.
