My interest in languages has been a constant companion since early childhood. After majoring in English at the "Classes Préparatoires" in France, I received my bachelor degree from the university of Lyon (the sister city to St Louis). I then spent one year at Webster University as a TA before joining the Modern Languages Department at Washington University, both as a teaching assistant and a candidate for a Masters (and then a PhD program) in French literature. I started teaching at John Burroughs School in 1987, alternating between full and part-time positions (when my children were small).
Apart from my love of teaching and of sharing my culture, I enjoy playing tennis, sailing and skiing, which I practice both in the USA and in France where I go back every year. When time permits, I cook and do a variety of crafts. And reading is one of my passions.
