Class of 1970

Dear Classmates,

Thank you to those who gave to our 50th Reunion Gift. Twenty-two classmates gave $25,000, which will be matched by Alice Galt. We will name a cabin at Drey Land in honor of our class. There is still time to contribute to Drey Land and to our class gift. You can check out the progress and support the campaign by going to the online campaign through this link. If you want to send in a check or stock, designate your donation to Drey Land and mark your class year (contact Amy Dunaway with questions). All gifts given by our classmates will be counted towards our cumulative class gift. We look forward to announcing the total amount this fall at our reunion!

Our gift will help fund Drey Land improvements including updating infrastructures, construction of a new lodge and an endowment to ensure camp programming and facility maintenance. All students participate in Drey Land at least three times — 7th grade orienteering, 9th grade Biology and 12th grade leadership and bonding. In addition, the intent of the challenge is that Drey Land be shared with underserved schools in the area. Alice is working with Burroughs to partner with local communities to make the camp accessible to organizations who desire to provide outdoor education to youth.

Looking down the road a bit, we are planning a weekend at Drey Land! Fear not, you will not have to spend the night on a wooden bunk bed or use the latrine. Echo Lodge, a beautiful facility, located on the old Camp Zoe property, is only minutes away. Picture hiking, enjoying s’mores on an open fire, or popping a cold one while floating on Sinking Creek.

Now two years into the planning and preparation, we can’t wait to celebrate our 50th + 2 reunion this October. Click here to go to our 50th Reunion page to find out more details.

Sincerely,

Your loyal 50th Reunion Committee
