About the Varsity Coaches
Steve Wilcutt has been the boys’ varsity basketball head coach for 22 years. During that time he has also served as a golf coach as well as a 7th and 8th grade PE teacher. Prior to coming to Burroughs, Wilcutt served as an assistant basketball coach at Pattonville, Mehlville and DeSmet high schools.
Mylin Johnson '92 joined the Burroughs faculty in 2000 and is an instructor in the Academic Support Department, a May Project advisor, a 7th and 8th grade physical education teacher and a basketball and football coach. Prior to coming to Burroughs, he worked at Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club. Johnson holds a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College and a master's in social work from Washington University. He is an Aim High faculty member and a volunteer coach for the St. Louis Eagles Basketball Club. He was a four year letter earner in both football and basketball at Kenyon College.

About the JV Coaches
Jud Dieffenbach (JBS ’97) returned to Burroughs in the
fall of 2011. He currently teaches Debate and Physical Education in
addition to coaching C Football and JV Boys’Basketball. Before returning
to JBS, Dieffenbach was a teacher and coach at Mary Institute-Country
Day School for six years. Dieffenbach earned his bachelor’s degree in
public policy from Indiana University and his master’s degree in History
from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.
Gus Frerotte joined the Burroughs staff in 2009 as an
assistant football coach. After two years in that role, he was named the
head coach of the varsity football team for the 2011 season. Prior to
joining the Bomber coaching staff, Coach Frerotte enjoyed a very
successful, 15-year career as a National Football League quarterback.
Frerotte was named to the Pro Bowl as a member of the Washington
Redskins in 1996 and tied an NFL record for the longest pass from
scrimmage by throwing a 99-yard touchdown pass. Frerotte holds a
bachelor's degree from the University of Tulsa.

1951-52 team defeated Puxico before 5,000 @ Washington University
1952-53 defeated Puxico in the state finals to keep Puxico from winning three state titles in a row
Bomber varsity teams, from 1990 to 1997, defeated MICDS (Country Day) in 19 consecutive games
Bomber teams, 1991 to 1996, won District Titles in five of six years
1991-92
team advanced to the quarter-finals of the MSHSAA Tournament and two of
its players became college basketball Captains (Chip Walther - Mizzou,
