We have divided our foundation
years into 2 fundamental pursuits:
- In 7th grade our emphasis
is on perception and observation (more

- and in 8th grade our emphasis
is on concepts and ideas in art: how an artist affects and effects
our perception. (more info)
There are also fundamental
ideas we want our students to understand about a first and a
second curriculum. The first curriculum centers on skills, techniques
and approaches to observation and creativity. Our second curriculum
centers around adopting a respectful attitude toward art and
the creative process enabling our students to enjoy and appreciate
art more fully.
