Photography Curriculum


Basic black and white photography is studied both as an art and a science.  Pinhole cameras are made to understand basic photographic principles.  Students begin with the technical foundation, learning to control their camera and darkroom equipment: exposure, developing, contact printing, and enlarging techniques are explored.  Aesthetic issues are addressed in relation to the historical development of photography as an art form.  Regular critiques encourage students to develop the language necessary to speak about their own work and that of others, formally and technically.
