Calling alumni from the classes of 1990 - 1999 for a sneak peek at the new master plans at Rung Boutique (owned by Ali Kindle '99) on Thursday, February 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres served by certified sommelier, Stanley Browne from Robust (co-owned by Arlene Maminta Browne '88. Recent Events

More than 150 alumni and their families gathered at Clayton Shaw Park for the first all-alumni skate break! It was a great afternoon of reconnecting, skating, cocoa and cookies! Check out the pictures on the website or on the JBS Alumni Association Facebook page. This event was hosted by Kelly Cornwell Steinkamp '87, Bill Lochmoeller ‘90 and Matt Corcoran ’01 and was sponsored by the JBS Alumni Association.

More than 100 young alumni and their families gathered in the Stamper Library for the Burroughs Winterlude between the Holiday Programs on Thursday, December 15th. Check out the pictures of alumni, their families and teachers!

Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) recognized the 20th anniversary of the 1991 Bombers state football team at the Edward Jones Dome on Saturday, November 26th. A gathering for the players, coaches, cheerleaders and their families took place in the JBS Dining Room from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, November 25th. Check out the pictures taken from both events!

2011 Alumni Weekend was attended by more than 500 alumni and family members during the weekend of Friday, September 30 - Sunday, October 2. Alumni and faculty members attended the Alumni Cocktail Reception & Art Exhibit by Robin Winfield '74 Friday night in the Kuehner Gallery. The Pernikoff Brothers played for alumni and their families in the Quad during the Alumni Picnic on Saturday. Many stayed to watch the Varsity Field Hockey team defeat Kirkwood 5-1 and the Varsity Football team defeat Ste. Genevieve 41-21. Athletes and fans enjoyed the friendly competitive games of soccer, field hockey and basketball that took place Sunday afternoon.  Check out the photos by Andy Newman '87.

More than 250 runners and walkers participated in the Fun Run - a family friendly event shared by JBS and MICDS - Saturday, September 10.

Blue & Gold Weekend was a huge success!  Alumni and their families watched several games against MICDS at JBS (field hockey, soccer and football) on Saturday, September 10.  The Spirit Tent was open during The Big Game where alumni mixed and mingled together and picked up Blue & Gold gear and spirit items.  

Events from the 2010-2011 School Year:

Alumni & Friends Gatherings in San Francisco - A cocktail reception was held on Thursday, May 12 at Town Hall. The following day at noon, there was a luncheon at Saint Michael's Alley in Palo Alto.

Jim Lemen's Retirement Celebration was held on Thursday, May 5.  The Alumni Association honored Jim with a dinner and program in the Field House with about 250 people in attendance, including alumni, faculty, former faculty, parents and past parents, as well as some former coaches and athletic directors from other schools. On the morning of Friday, May 6, a small group played a casual morning of golf at Norwood Hills Country Club followed with a buffet luncheon. 

Alumni & Friends Reception in New York City was held on Thursday, April 14, at The Hurricane Club. More than 90 alums reconnected with Jim Lemen, Andy Abbott, and each other.

A Happy Hour for Classes of 2000-2006 was held on Thursday, March 10 at The Handle Bar, owned by Tatyana Telnikova '01.

A Happy Hour for the Classes of 1940-1949 was held on Tuesday, February 22 from 5:30 to 7:00 at Truffles. About 30 alums gathered to celebrate winter in St. Louis and being friends for more than 60 years!

An Alumni & Friends Reunion was held in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, February 24.  Almost 100 alums came out for a great evening at The Tabard Inn.  Check out the photos online.

Alumni Phonathon in February - About 65 alums came in to make calls for Phonathons which were held in the dining room in the month of February.  Many thanks to all who participated and helped make our Annual Giving campaign successful!

The Alumni Spirit Rally was held on Saturday, February 5 prior to the JBS/MICDS Varsity Basketball games at Washington University. Hundreds of fans showed up at the games to cheer on the Bombers.

Winterlude - What a wonderful gathering! More than 150 young alums (2000-2010) and their parents and teachers gathered in the Stamper Library between performances of the holiday program on December 16.

Learn about planning your class reunion - If you are an alum whose class years end in 1 or 6, but you didn't make it to the initial planning meeting on November 30, contact Lisa Yost in the JBS Alumni Office.

Gingerbread house decorating event - Alums and their young kids had a blast decorating gingerbread houses on December 4.

Alumni Day of Service - On Saturday, November 13, twenty-nine alums, faculty members, parents, students and family members from JBS joined up with Gateway Greening for a morning of community service. We raked, prepared beds for the winter months, and mulched pathways at the Clemens Community Garden in University City.

Chicago alumni and friends reconnected during a reception at Quartino (626 N. State Street) on November 4th from 6:30 to 9:30.

Alumni Weekend 2010 was a blast! More than 850 alumni and family members descended on campus from October 7 through 10, and there was something for everyone. We started off with a film screening, an artist reception and a cocktail party. The family picnic on Saturday featured fun activities for every age. Live music was in the air, and our featured artists and performers were all JBS alums! Sunday's dedication of the Ray Beckman Field was followed by alumni soccer and field hockey games.

Events from the 2009-2010 School Year:

Almost a hundred golfers played in the twentieth annual JBS Alumni Golf Tournament at the Bogey Club on Monday, May 10th.  Despite the wet weather, everyone had a great time.  Then another thirty alums, parents and former faculty gathered for the networking cocktail party which followed.

A reception for alumni and friends of JBS was held at the Carnegie Club in New York City on Thursday, April 15, 2010. More than eighty people were present to chat with Andy and Katie Abbott.

A reception for Florida alumni and friends was held on Sunday, March 21 in Naples Florida. About thirty defied a thunderstorm and gathered for this event.

About fifty alumni took part in the first-ever Alumni Forum here on campus on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. We appreciate the feedback from everyone present! The Alumni Board will be compiling the results of the forum.

Gathering for Alumni in College -Thursday, December 17, 2009, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Alumni Weekend, October 2 - 4, 2009. Events included:

Alumni Cocktail Party and Kuehner Gallery Exhibit on Friday, October 2, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Kuehner Gallery.  The inaugural alumni art exhibit featured the work of Doug Kassabaum '68.

Alumni Picnic on Saturday, October 3, 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. in the Quadrangle.  All alumni and their families were invited.  Classes holding reunions this weekend included: '44, '54, '69, '74, '79, '84, '89 and '94.

Alumni Soccer Game, Sunday, October 4, 11:00 a.m.  Leland Football Field.  A friendly alumni soccer game refereed by former Coach Ray Beckman.

Events from the 2008-2009 School Year:

More than 80 alumni, parents and other friends of Burroughs enjoyed a beautiful day at the Bogey Club on May 11, 2009 for the Alumni Golf Tournament.

A New York City alumni cocktail reception was held on April 30, 2009 at the University Club.

San Francisco Alumni and Friends got together on Thursday, April 16, 2008.

Florida cocktail receptions were held on March 21 and 22 in Naples and Palm Beach.

Seventy alumni and friends from the Chicago area attended a cocktail reception at the University Club in February 2009.

Atlanta alumni and friends had a good time at a Burroughs reception on February 12, 2009.

Back-to-School Night
The 19th annual Back-to-School Night was held on February 4, 2009.  More than 150 people attended the 15 classes offered by 18 JBS teachers. Check out the photos on Campus Candids.

Los Angeles Alumni and Friends gathered for brunch on January 10, 2009 in West Hollywood.

San Diego Alumni and Friends got together to socialize on the evening of January 8, 2009.

Alumni Weekend, October 11 and 12, 2008:  Events included the opening of the Kuehner Art Gallery on Friday, the JBS Alumni Picnic on Saturday, and the Alumni Soccer Game on Sunday. Several classes organized class reunions for this weekend too.
