The John Burroughs Society is
comprised of alumni, past parents, grandparents and friends who have
notified us that they have included Burroughs in their wills, trusts, or
other planned giving instruments. Members are invited to various
functions at the school and receive periodic communiqués with timely news
and reports. Unless you prefer to remain anonymous - and many do -
we recognize membership in the Reporter and in our Perspectives
newsletter.
Burroughs established its
Planned Giving Program and the John Burroughs Society as a way to
say Thank You! Often, we receive word that a gift has been left for
the school, and we never had a chance to say thank you to the donor.
We have several publications which
may interest you:
Thoughtful Giving - A Guide to
Charitable Gift Planning contains easy-to-understand definitions,
descriptions and examples for giving through wills, charitable trusts,
gift annuities, bequests, life estates, real estate and a variety of
life-income gifts. Please
add my name to the mailing list.
Perspectives on Estate and Gift
Planning is our newsletter for members and prospective members
of the John Burroughs Society. It contains stories about
members of the Burroughs community who have remembered the school through
gift planning, timely news and information on issues affecting charitable
financial planning and our Honor Roll of Members. Please
add my name to the mailing list.
If you would like more information
about our planned giving program, would like to receive any of our
publications or other helpful brochures, or even speak confidentially to
someone about your ideas for remembering Burroughs, please contact Jim
Kemp at jkemp@jburroughs.org or
call us at 1-800-264-4045, ext. 256.
