The Importance of Giving
Since
its founding in 1923, John Burroughs School has relied on the
support of the families who make up the Burroughs
community. In addition to the countless
volunteer hours given to the Parents'
Council, the Board of Trustees, the Alumni
Board, the Reunion Committees and the
schools many special events, Burroughs families
have given strong financial support each year as
well.
|
Giving is a
tradition at Burroughs.
Tuition pays approximately 73% of the costs of
running the school each year - expenses which range
from faculty salaries to athletic fields to electric
bills.
The Annual Giving program
provides more than $1.725 million towards these costs,
and interest from our Endowment provides an
additional $1.7 million.

Without these gifts,
Burroughs would not have achieved - and could
not continue to provide - the excellence in
education for which we are known.
Our primary means
of garnering support to pay the school's operating
expenses is our Annual Giving Program.

Gifts to our
endowment & capital programs support the school
in perpetuity, helping Burroughs build permanent
funds and facilities to sustain the school in the
years to come. You can learn more about our Endowed
Scholarships, Memorial & Tribute Funds or our Gift & Estate Planning. Whether through your will, in a trust or
through an income-producing agreement, both the donor
and Burroughs can benefit from thoughtful gift
planning.
Thank you for your
interest in supporting John Burroughs School.
