Introduction to Gift and Estate Planning

Although Burroughs certainly welcomes outright gifts, there are other avenues for supporting the school.  Planned gifts – bequests, trusts, annuities, insurance, real estate, IRAs and other ways to give – may be established during the donor's lifetime or through a donor’s will or estate plan.

The development office is pleased to introduce several new comprehensive gift and estate planning web pages.  These pages are a resource for planned giving information including: types of gifts; definitions and glossaries; tax issues; attorney issues; a reading room; sample language; downloadable brochures and a gift calculator.  Plus there is information for you to print and discuss with your professional advisor.

All donors who remember the school in their wills, trusts or through other planned gifts are invited to become members of the John Burroughs Society.  Members are invited to various functions at the school and receive periodic communiqués and with timely news and reports.
